On March 25-26 Armenian Mountaineering and Hiking Federation received the director of the Russian federation of Mountaineering Aleksey Yury Ovchinnikov and member of the leadership of the Russian Federation of Mountaineering, Chief Referee of the Federation and the referee of many international competitions of Mountaineering- Alexander Aleksey Pyatnitsyn.
A number of important issues were discussed concerning the development of mountaineering in Armenia, interrelations between the two countries and the possibility of organizational-methodical support to the Armenian side.
So, the Armenian Mountaineering and Hiking Federation received an official invitation to participate in many international competitions in 2012, including the championship of commonwealth of independent states on mountaineering.
The details of the meeting and the participation of the Armenian athletes in forthcoming competitions will be announced by the Federation at the April session of the members of the Federation.
