Mount Makaghaqar is situated on the border of Tavush and Gegharkunik regions. It has 2170m height and considered as the Southwestern branching of Miapor Mountain Range. It is situated 127km far from capital Yerevan.
The ascent began from the village of Aghavnavank(Tavush region) and ended in the village of Dprabak(Gegharkunik region). From the village of Aghavnavank to the summit the road is forest covered, but it is possible to descend to Dprabak village through a road without trees.
